Last of the Toms
The plants are all looking pretty sorry for themselves but the las
t of the fruit is hanging on in there. A few might need a helping hand to ripen on the windowsill but most have managed it themselves. I’m so pleased I experimented with different varieties this year, the range of flavours is amazing and they look stunning.
The yellow pear shaped ones are particularly sweet and tasty and the fiorrentina italian beef tomatoes are exceptional, especially when grilled or roasted. Tomatoes in any form just seem to light up the plate....and as for the unripe ones....its nearly chutney time.
