Works of Art

Globe artichokes are so elegant on the plot. They are like old friends coming back to visit year after year. Posh, sophisticated friends- with manners, confidence and charm. I love the sculptural form of the heads, either young and used in salads or with a wiser more mature head just waiting for some melted butter.

Much as I want to eat them all I do like to let a few flower as the purple heads swaying in the cool evening breeze is a magnificent site.
